Most of you will be aware that following some unexpected building work last weekend in the Cath Lab we were forced to cancel procedures on Monday 3rd February and the following day.

The Cath Lab was left in a thick cloud of demolition dust and as a result it required a thorough cleaning before it could be re-opened. I could not help but be most impressed by the hard work and team spirit displayed by many of the Cath Lab staff in getting the labs re-opened as soon as was practically possible. I know that many people struggled through and thoroughly cleaned the entire lab suite. The phrase “hands that do dishes” springs to mind J I am grateful to all those who rallied round and took the chaos they encountered first thing that day in their stride. As a result of this collective effort and sheer hard graft we were able to re-open sooner rather than later, and thus avoid cancelling too many patients over and above the Monday and Tuesday lists.
