The Healthcare Commission’s ‘Standards for Better Health’ will, from this April be the way in which the Trust’s performance is assessed, and these will replace the existing star rating scheme therefore compliance is mandatory. Paris Heart Centre’s chosen vehicle in achieving these standards is HQS Accreditation

Health Quality Service (HQS

HQS is a Quality Improvement Programme which comprises operational standards covering all aspects of healthcare provision together with an organisational development and assessment process leading to the accreditation award. This accreditation is well known and highly respected, with many Trusts and independent sector hospitals having achieved this quality standard. HQS Accreditation will last for three years, ensuring continuous quality improvement and a robust document control system. This will improve the standards of care patients receive and the working lives of those involved in the delivery of healthcare.
