The Heart Centre Seminar Room was refurbished in 2003. Before 2003 it was used as a meeting room/storeroom/viewing room and library. Now it is used for meetings only. Below is a list of the
facilities.

Booking the room : The room has to be booked and is booked through Linda Scott ext 4271- Cardiothoracic Office, 1st Floor Phase 2 Building. Features of the Seminar Room

Seating for 68 people - Chairs are stackable allowing for flexible seating arrangements. 6 Fold-up tables provide suitable layouts for meetings.

Projection screen that can be opened/closed by remote control.
Projection unit is ceiling mounted and controlled remotely

Lectern equipped with Computer & flat screen monitor, Video, DVD player and facility to connect a laptop

SVHS Video / DVD Players


Amplifier is connected to two wall mounted speakers for sound from the Radio microphone allowing the speaker to move away from the lectern whilst still being heard properly through the wall mounted speakers.


Networked computer which is mounted in the lectern with the output projected onto the wal and small flat screen monitor. It runs Windows XP with Office XP. It can accept files on various formats including floppy disc, CDROM, DVD, USB memory, Flash cards, Smart cards etc.

6-in-1Multimedia Card Reader: Compact Flash, SmartMedia, IBM Microdrive, Secure Digital, Multimedia Card and Memory Stick!

These allow files to be transferred to the computer faster and more reliably.
